Walking for good health

KUALA TERENGGANU: More than 200 people from all walks of life sacrificed their weekend to take part in the World Walking Day programme organised by Nestle (Malaysia) Berhad and Primula Beach Resort.

Nestle product Sdn Bhd (East Coast Region) event manager Mohd Ismail Osman said the programme aims at instilling a healthy lifestyle among the company’s personnel.

“This is our monthly event, which will culminates in a bigger programme involving six states on Nov 20.

“That programme will be participated by more than 20,000,” he said after the event yesterday.

Mohd Ismail added the locations chosen for the Nov 20 event were Penang, Putrajaya, Pahang, Sabah, Sarawak and Johor. He also explained that Nestle aims to donate RM1 for every kilometre walked by each participant.

“The donations will fund the purchase of 100 wheelchairs.

“We hope the donations can enable the disabled to move more freely and enjoy nature,” he said. Among those in attendance was Primula Beach Resort general manager Mazuki Husin.
